The game may be over but the war rages on between LeBron James and New York Knicks’ Enes Kanter via social media.

We already discussed how the New York Knicks completely blew a chance to rock the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden. Not only that, but an ugly fight broke out between King LeBron James and Enes Kanter.

However, the battle continued far after the Cavs’ 104-101 victory over the Knicks. In fact, James fueled the fire this morning by posting on Instagram.

The picture. The caption. The nerve of this guy. It’s enough to make any Knicks fan’s blood boil. And it especially struck a nerve with Kanter, who finished last night’s contest with 20 points and 16 rebounds.

So, naturally, Kanter had to strike back. And why wouldn’t he, after his team, his city, his franchise just got humiliated by a guy who was outscored by Tim Hardaway Jr.

There goes Kanter, defending his team’s honor and raising the standards of Kristaps Porzingis, as though they aren’t already sky-high. But he can’t just take James’ comments.

Who knows? Maybe this banter will spark some fire under the Knicks, who have a long way to go this season. It could be the motivation they need to actually work on finishing out games instead of sleepwalking through the fourth quarter.

While the social media barbs are entertaining, in the end, it’s all about the game of basketball. Unfortunately, the Knicks could not come through for New York.

LeBron James maybe have been the King of the City last night but it’s still the Knicks’ city. Respect it.
