Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball’s brother LiAngelo was arrested for shoplifting in China.

LiAngleo Ball and two other UCLA men’s basketball players were arrested in China on Tuesday for shoplifting.

According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, Ball, along with freshman Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, are being questioned by police about stealing from a Louis Vuitton store near the team’s hotel. The players that got arrested aren’t currently with the team.

“We are aware of a situation involving UCLA student-athletes in Hangzhou, China. The University is cooperating fully with local authorities on this matter, and we have no further comment at this time,” UCLA said in a statement.

Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that three Georgia Tech players, Justin Moore, Jose Alvarado, and Jon Brown, were questioned by police about the incident and cleared.

“During the questioning, it was determined that Georgia Tech student-athletes were not involved in the activities being investigated,” Georgia Tech said in a statement. “They will rejoin the team on Tuesday and resume their scheduled activities in advance of Saturday’s season opener vs. UCLA in Shanghai.”

Since LiAngleo’s arrest people have been ripping LiAngleo’s father LaVar on Twitter.

Ouch. The question now is why did LiAngelo shoplift? Because Big Ballers don’t need to shoplift.

UCLA opens the season against Georgia Tech Friday in Shanghai. They might be missing a Ball when they do so.
