Despite an off day for the New York Yankees, there was still plenty going on behind the scenes in the Bronx that you don’t want to miss out on.

The New York Yankees had an off day and a rare solar eclipse occurred. And much like Aaron Hicks, you can’t stare at it without shades because that star shines far too bright.

Last week, the Yankees released their player jerseys for this upcoming Player’s Weekend, complete with nicknames for each individual NYY player. Hicks, by far, had the best nickname as he channeled Key and Peele’s popular sketch, “Substitute Teacher.”

Well, Keegan-Michael Key, the genius behind the “A-A-Ron” line, had a few choice words for Hicks prior to his debut with that nickname this weekend.

He’s got some pretty big shoes to fill just for a nickname. By the end of the weekend, we’re hoping for cheers instead of “you done messed up, A-A-Ron!” Let’s see if Hicks can pull it off and make Key proud.

Yet another blessing that was provided for us on this rare off day was from the YES Network. Their Twitter posted a video of the 1977 World Championship team reuniting at the Stadium.

The video features several big-time stars, including Bucky Dent, Ron Guidry and Roy White, who took time out of their afternoon to sign autographs for some lucky fans and reminisce over the good ole’ days.

Hopefully these guys brought some luck to that Stadium, which the Yankees desperately need if they are going to catch the Red Sox in the American League East.

Well, if the 1977 Yankees had anything to say about it, they would surely be saying, “it ain’t over ’til it’s over.” Isn’t that right, Bucky?
