According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Trail Blazers dynamic duo hasn’t given up in their pursuit of Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony.

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony only has eyes for the Houston Rockets but don’t tell that to Damian Lillard or C.J. McCollum. The Portland Trail Blazers backcourt haven’t given up hope of playing with the ten-time All-Star.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Lillard and McCollum “have done a good job” recruiting Anthony. Woj elaborates, “They’ve been on him.”

This comes just a day after a report that Houston and New York have resumed trade talks regarding Anthony. Despite this, the two major obstacles remain in completing this trade.

Houston needs someone to take on Ryan Anderson‘s crazy contract (three years, ($60 million) and New York wants Anthony to expand his list of teams. That’s where Portland comes in.

Trying to convince Anthony to accept a trade anywhere but Houston seems impossible at this point. Portland is probably entering the Melo sweepstakes too late in the game.

Convincing Anthony to uproot his life to a market that isn’t big is a tall enough task, but to do it at the 11th hour will be nearly impossible.
