The New York Knicks missed out on the top free agent point guards. Now they’re moving on to names like Michael Carter-Williams.
Jrue Holiday and Jeff Teague are off the board, and George Hill and Derrick Rose are the next point guards down on the ladder. The Knicks are reportedly interested in bringing Rose back, with Hill being their top priority.
However, the two veterans aren’t the only point guards currently linked to the Knicks.
According to Marc Spears of ESPN, New York has an interest in former Chicago Bull Michael Carter-Williams.
Carter-Williams won Rookie of the Year for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2014, but since then it’s been all downhill.
The 25-year-old has been traded twice, and the Bulls just declined to make him a qualifying offer. That means they didn’t like what they saw and just decided to let him go.
2016-17 was the worst season of Carter-Williams’ short career. The Knicks should be able to get him cheap.
