With the New York Yankees coming off a loss against the White Sox, here’s the news and notes you need to know.

In Wednesday, April 19, 2017’s edition of New York Yankees Bronx Bomber Buzz, we take a look at an injury update regarding top prospect Gleyber Torres as well as other news from within the organization.

It was announced on Tuesday that Yankees top prospect Gleyber Torres was scratched from Trenton Thunder’s lineup with bicep tendinitis.

Bryan Hoch of MLB.com later reported that Torres will undergo an MRI on his bicep to see how much damage has actually been damaged to the muscle.

Prior to the injury, Torres was slashing .237/.341/.342 in just 10 games with the Yankees Double-A affiliate Trenton Thunder. Not spectacular, but he was just starting to get adjusted to his new level.

At the major league level, the Bronx Bombers lost on Tuesday night to the Chicago White Sox which snapped their eight-game winning streak.

New York just looked lost at the plate against White Sox veteran right-hander Miguel Gonzalez, who only surrendered four hits through 8.1 innings of work.

Luis Severino looked solid on the mound up until allowing a three-run home run to Avisail Garcia in the top of the seventh, which may not have even happened if Pete Kozma did not botch a double play ball.

The Yankees brought the winning run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth with two outs in the form of Aaron Judge, but it proved to be too little too late for the boys from the Bronx.

That is all the top news regarding the New York Yankees today. Don’t forget the Yankees wrap up a series against the White Sox tonight at 7:05 pm ET on WPIX.
