In his first start in over two years, Zack Wheeler bombed as his New York Mets fell by the final of 7-2 against the Miami Marlins.

So much wait, so much excitement, so much anticipation was present for a Friday night content in Flushing.
Zack Wheeler was slated to make his first start in over two years.
The fifth member of the Phenom Five, which has now turned into the Four Henchmen of Queens, was shelled by the Miami Marlins. All told, Wheeler could only go four innings while surrendering five runs, six hits and one walk while striking four.
The only home run from the opposition came via young Christian Yelich, a two-run bomb, making the score a lopsided 5-1. Josh Smoker, who replaced Wheeler, didn’t fare much better (two earned runs). Marcell Ozuna collected three hits while Derek Dietrich added three RBIs.
For the Mets at the plate, Yoenis Cespedes put up his first home run of the season, a late solo shot in the eighth. Curtis Granderson was responsible for the other run produced as his RBI double in the first inning opened the scoring for both clubs.
It was a cold and dreary night that both Wheeler and Terry Collins‘s club would like to forget rather quickly. Next up for the Amazins will be these same Fish on Saturday night at Citi Field.
