New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had another big scoring game, but it was all in vain. His team lost to the lowly Mavericks, 103-95.

Carmelo Anthony was obviously going to put up a huge number on the night he on the three year anniversary of the night broke Bernard King’s New York Knicks scoring record.
With a bid for a spot as an All-Star game reserve potentially on the line, Anthony posted his 11th game of the season with 30 or more points. The New York Knicks were just 5-5 in his previous remarkable efforts.
On Wednesday night in Dallas, they slipped to below .500 with a horrible 103-95 loss. Instead of building off of the momentum from their win on Monday against the Indiana Pacers, a playoff team, the Knicks fell to the lowly Mavericks.
Kristaps Porzingis was in foul trouble for the entire game and managed to log just 23 minutes and 13 points on 4 of 11 shooting. He’s clearly still not himself.
Derrick Rose looked even worse than usual on defense, but unlike most of the time his offense didn’t pick up for it. Rose was 6 of 15 from the field with 13 points and 3 assists.
Harrison Barnes (23 points, 5 rebounds) and Dirk Nowitzki (19 points, 4 rebounds) led the way for Dallas.
Up next: The Knicks return home on Friday to face the Charlotte Hornets. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m. ET.
