St. John’s Red Storm player Durand Johnson will take his talents to Swiss team Union Neuchatel.
Durand Johnson played for the St. John’s Red Storm men’s basketball squad as a graduate transfer last season.
As it turns out, last season will be the only year that Johnson plays at the Queens campus. He officially announced that he will play in Switzerland, signing with Union Neuchatel.
Johnson averaged 12 points, four rebounds, and just under two assists per game for the Red Storm last year. He shot around 33 percent from three-point land and was a reliable defender. His best game was against Marquette in January when he scored a career-high 20 points.
He will play for the Neuchatel club that finished in first place with a 21-6 record last season.
With the recent announcement, St. John’s will be without one of their key players last year but still have their two premier pieces in point guard Federico Mussini and center Yankuba Sima. Additionally, they will four-star player Marcus Lovett for this upcoming season.
