Two dramatic ninth inning home runs lifted the New York Yankees to an unlikely win over the Texas Rangers.

As good as done following a poor outing from Masahiro Tanaka and virtually no offensive life through eight, the New York Yankees came alive for six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to erase a 7-3 deficit and pull of an improbable win.

Brett Gardner’s RBI single pulled the Yanks to within three and brought the tying run to the plate. Fittingly enough, the tying run was a guy who had homered in his previous at-bat.

Facing Texas closer Sam Dyson, Brian McCann hammered a huge three-run homer into the right field seats to tie a game that the Yankees had no business tying.

Following McCann’s dramatic blast, Starlin Castro worked a walk to bring up Didi Gregorius in a big spot.

The Yankee shortstop pulled a Dyson offering just over the wall in right for a walk-off two-run blast to win the game for the Bombers.
