New York Yankees’ second baseman Starlin Castro came up big in his first at bat sporting Yankee pinstripes.

The New York Yankees made a deal with the Chicago Cubs for Starlin Castro in order to bring in an elite second baseman, something they haven’t had since Robinson Cano.

Let’s just say it’s been a damn good start for the newest Yankee.

With two on and one out in the bottom of the second inning of Opening Day, Castro ripped a Dallas Keuchel fastball down the left field line and into the corner.

That scored Carlos Beltran and Brian McCann to give the Bombers a 2-0 lead.

Against Keuchel in 2015, Yankee hitters struck out 28 times and did not score a single run in three games.

Castro had a .367/.373/.571 slash line with two home runs in Spring Training, and it looks like he’s carrying that over into the regular season.
