Although New York Mets slugger Yoenis Cespedes dropped $7,000 on a prized champion hog, he was forced to do something he didn’t want to today.

As we all heard on Monday, New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes bought in a 270-pound grand champion hog to the team’s Spring Training complex in Port St Lucie, Florida.

This was after all the fancy cars the Cuban slugger drove in the prior week. Following the pig, the next day, Cespedes was seen along with Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, riding a horse. Other people took turns including VP Jay Horowitz.

Now, turning our attention back to the prized champion hog, Cespedes dropped $7,000 to buy the animal, and then later on took a picture with the 14-year old fan who raised it at the county fair where Yoenis bought in.

Unfortunately though, Cespedes was not allowed to keep the pig, so instead of doing it himself, because he didn’t want to, he sent it to the butcher instead.

I know this would create tasty pork food, but still. Considering Cespedes chipped in thousands of dollars for the animal, it’s unfortunate that he couldn’t keep it as a pet at least.
