New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes decided to show off his canon of an arm by gunning down a runner at third base on Saturday.

One attribute in baseball that has allowed to slowly fall by the wayside in recent generations has been that of the outfield arm.

Once considered one of the top skill-sets, the outfield arm has slowly dipped in notoriety. Speed, contact, power and overall defensive abilities remain important while the gunslingers have trickled down the list.

New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes showed us on Saturday night why this sentiment should be re-evaluated.

Check out Cespedes absolutely gun down Pittsburgh Pirates’ Sean Rodriguez as he tried to leg a double into a triple in the ninth-inning with the game knotted up at three.

It was a brilliant display of fielding that the MLB world has been accustomed to witnessing form this rare Cuban sensation.
