In the series finale against the Twins in Minnesota on Sunday, the New York Yankees took care of business.

No Alex Rodriguez today, no problem for the New York Yankees.

In the rubber-game of a three game set against the Minnesota Twins, Joe Girardi’s club put up seven runs to the Twins two. Most of the damage was done by third-baseman Chase Headley.

Headley finished 2-4 with three runs batted in and two runs scored. His solo shot in the fifth-inning off Twins starter Kyle Gibson was the top highlight.

In the bottom of the third with Joe Mauer up, Jacoby Ellsbury turned in the highlight of the day on defense, preventing a run from scoring:

Nate Eovaldi pitched tremendous baseball over eight innings to earn his 10th win of the season. He only scattered eight hits and surrendered just two runs.

The victory moves the Yanks to 55-42 on the season.
