New York Jets strong safety Jamal Adams didn’t hide the fact he’d love to see Kevin Durant come to the Knicks.
Earlier this season, Jamal Adams received some criticism for his comments on the criticism coming from Jets fans.
Adams took to Twitter, again, Friday, broadcasting his desire to see Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant join the Knicks as he ponders his next destination as a free agent this offseason.
Perhaps this will ease the blow of watching the Warriors erase a 10-point third quarter deficit and outscore the Knicks 47-16 in their 128-100 victory over the Knicks Friday at Madison Square Garden.
Durant was the main culprit in the Warriors rally, scoring 25 of his 41 points in the fourth quarter. After seeing the home team play the defending champs so well through three quarters, such an outcome was demoralizing for the fans waiting for the Knicks to return to prominence.
It was almost as if the Warriors were dealing with an annoying fly buzzing around them and finally decided to swat it away.
Durant’s performance on Friday wasn’t the only thing that caught the attention of Knicks fans.
A marketing company put up a billboard of him and Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingas near Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, asking the question “Can you make NY sports great again?,” tagged with Durant’s Instagram handle: @easymoneysniper.
In an article by Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Durant responded to the billboard and the hype surrounding the Knicks obvious interest.
“I mean, to be honest, I don’t know how I feel about that type of stuff. It’s cool. No disrespect, but I’m not really impressed with that type of stuff,” he said. “I just really like playing basketball. I try to focus — my entertainment is really what happens on the basketball court. You know what I’m saying? I know all of that stuff is a part of it, but for me I don’t really get up for that stuff.”
Who knows if Durant will come to New York in the offseason, but I’m sure Jamal Adams will try his best to sell him on the idea.
