New York Knicks rookie forward Kevin Knox just can’t wait for training camp to officially open up, predicts at least 35 wins this season.

Similarly to Kristaps Porzingis during his first summer as a professional is exactly what Kevin Knox is repeating.

KP, drafted by the New York Knicks amid many boos in Brooklyn immediately had the basketball-watching world standing thanks to the NBA Summer League. Just a few years later, Knox has followed suit.

From solid fundamentals to high-flying length-showcasing skills, the first-year Kentucky product feels like the real deal. He also feels like a solid professional as working hard and excitement are just two pieces of ammo in the kid’s backpack.

On Sunday, he discussed just how excited he is to fast-forward time for the official commencement of training camp in late September, via MSG Networks.

In addition, Knox guaranteed at least 35 wins this season per Marc Berman of the New York Post.

“I saw that. People are sleeping on us with the 29 wins,” he said. “I think we definitely can win at least 35 and get in that playoff talk. That’s my personal opinion. Everyone has their own opinion. But the whole team, I’m pretty confident we’re really good this year, that we have a chance to make the playoffs.”

The Knicks won 29 games a season ago but were on a close-to-40 pace prior to Kristaps Porzingis going down for the entire season with a knee.

Whether or not KP returns at all this season, Knox is in perfect position to make a name for himself.
