In the first inning of the very first game of Aaron Hicks’ return, the centerfielder may have made the play of the year for the New York Yankees.

Jordan Montgomery was not having a start to remember Tuesday night. The rookie lefty managed to load the bases against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays in the first inning with no one out.

After Logan Morrison struck out for the first out of the inning, Wilson Ramos lifted a deep blast into the New York night that looked like it was headed for the subway station.

Aaron Hicks had other ideas.

If you get a chance, Watch the reaction of Chasen Shreve in the bullpen. That dude looked like a kid that just won a shopping spree to Toys’R’Us.

If Hicks can continue to make plays like that, he certainly will make things difficult for manager Joe Girardi to decide which outfielders to start in the playoffs.
