Judgement Day is seemingly never-ending in the Bronx, with Aaron Judge just being named May’s American League Rookie of the Month.
New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge has recently been named by MLB as the American League’s Rookie of the Month for the month of May.
In this second month of the season, Judge slashed .347/.441/.642 with seven home runs, 17 RBI’s and five doubles in just 26 games. He led all American League rookies in batting average, runs, hits, home runs, RBI’s and on-base percentage. It’s safe to say his dominance continued.
This is the second consecutive month the 6-foot-7 slugger will be receiving the award after being named with the honor for the month of April as well. He has become the first Yankee to win the award twice.
The last time a New York Yankee has won the same monthly award in consecutive months was way back in 1985 when Don Mattingly was named the player of the month for both August and September.
Judge has certainly proved this season that he could be the real deal for the Yankees and with these awards continuously coming, it may leave fans curious as to how much better he can actually get.
