Prior to the first of three between the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs, Aroldis Chapman received his hardware.

Before the New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs squared off in game one of their three-game weekend interleague series, Aroldis Chapman was honored by both Chicago fans and former teammates on the field.

The 6-foot-4 closER was seen on the field in his Yankee pull-over interacting with fans and embracing his former World Series Championship teammates before heading to the bullpen on Friday afternoon.

Then before the game started, the Chicago Cubs brass, including Theo Epstein and Tom rickets, presented Chapman with his much-deserved championship ring. In 28 appearances for the Cubbies in 2016, Chapman recorded 16 saves and allowed just three earned runs over 26.2 innings of work (1.01 ERA).

It should also be noted that long reliever Adam Warren also received a championship ring for his services in Chicago a season ago. But, as valuable as he has been for New York, the ride he was not nearly as well received as the Cuban Missile. Congrats big guy. You’ve earned it.
