Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott was picked as the NFC East’s most valuable player by ESPN’s NFC East reporters.
There were only two running backs in NFL history who racked up more rushing yards than Ezekiel Elliott in their rookie campaigns (Eric Campbell and George Rodgers), and although the actual MVP award is still a week away from being handed out, the NFC East ESPN reporters have unanimously picked Elliot as the NFC East’s most valuable player.
Already the winner of the Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers Association Rookie of the Year award, Ezekiel Elliot is widely expected to win the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Award as well as the Pepsi Rookie of the Year award. With much stiffer competition, Elliot’s name will even be in the conversation for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award.

To be the most valuable player, a player’s contributions to the team’s success must be taken into account for the voting.
