The New York Mets outfield logjam might be fixed as soon as within the next few days at the winter meetings.

There is no denying that the New York Mets have quite the influx of outfielders on their roster which is something that has to be dealt with.

As of now, Yoenis Cespedes, Jay Bruce, Curtis Granderson, Juan Lagares, Michael Conforto, and even Brandon Nimmo are all capable of starting out there. Due to the amount of depth in that area, they will have to deal one or more of those players to get players more beneficial to their needs.

According to Adam Rubin of ESPN:

“The Mets are confident they will be able to trade an outfielder before the winter meetings conclude since they do not have much else to work on this week. Their preference is to trade Jay Bruce over Curtis Granderson, but Granderson has been drawing more interest. Ideally, the Mets would return a reliever in the trade, but prospects may be the return instead.”

As noted by Rubin, New York is fairly confident they will be able to deal one of their outfielders but the question they have to answer is which one.

Curtis Granderson is drawing more interest than Jay Bruce due to an awful second half from the former Cincinnati Red. Whatever their decision comes down to, will most certainly help improve their bullpen or maybe even improve depth in other areas.
