New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose didn’t take the subtle route as it related to getting in on the fun of a Carmelo Anthony Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving. Is there a better holiday?

There can’t be.

Not only do you indulge in the finest feast of the year, but wall-to-wall football is playing in the background on those HD flat screens. For Americans, it just doesn’t get any better.

So, when you’re all alone in New York City, while your family continues to live in Chicago, you have to find a Thanksgiving feast to attend. This exactly what New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose needed to do.

Since he needed a spot to go, he decided to invite himself to Carmelo Anthony’s Thanksgiving Dinner, via Ian Begley of ESPN.

“My mom and everybody, my son, will be back in Chicago. So yeah, I’m thankful I have somewhere to go.”

“I just asked where his family’s (going) and asked if it was cool if I came over. He said yeah so I don’t think I have to bring anything but an appetite. Yeah, that’s the only thing I have to bring right now.”

To top it off, the Chicago native doesn’t even have to bring anything but an appetite. Well, at least that’s what he thinks.

Rose’s Knickerbockers welcome in the Portland Trail Blazers to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night. The squad will be looking for its second-straight victory against a very dangerous and high-powered Blazers offense.
