Playing out the last preseason game, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks decided to ooh and awe the Barclays Center.

What happens when a defender is so unsteady on his feet thanks to a crossover or spin or stutter step or step-back?

What happens is the defender finds himself on skates.

On Thursday night at the Barclays Center, proclaimed shutdown defender Brooklyn Nets’ Rondae Hollis-Jefferson found himself on skates. Or, at the very least, mini-skates.

Check out the video above. It was an extended elbow isolation by New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony. A simple pivot, crossover, and jumper put RHJ on mini-skates (video above).

This, as Clyde appropriately pointed out, “oohs and awes” from the crowd.

With 5:34 remaining in the first half, the Nets currently enjoy a slim 42-39 lead over the Knickerbockers. Joakim Noah‘s been the story of the night as he’s poured in 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting. The Nets high man is bench player Joe Harris who’s collected 10 points.
