T.J. Rivera knocked the fourth straight 2-out hit in the 4th-inning to give the New York Mets a 2-1 lead over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The 27-year-old kid who’s hit everywhere he’s traveled continues to get it done at the big league level with the New York Mets. What’s more, is he continues to get it done at a high level during the most pressurized situation a major league could face.
Thrust into a pennant race, Rivera has solidified his status as Terry Collins‘s starting second baseman with a .340 batting average, three home runs and 14 runs batted in. On Friday night, in Philly, he added to that line.
Squaring off against Phillies starting pitcher Alec Asher, Rivera found a hole on the left site to score Curtis Granderson (video above). It was the fourth straight two-out hit New York strung along in the bottom of that 4th-inning. Jay Bruce came up before him and knocked in Yoenis Cespedes.
