Shoulder concerns for the New York Mets and Matt Harvey send him to the DL.

The New York Mets announced this afternoon that they will be placing Matt Harvey on the DL. The Dark Knight is experiencing shoulder discomfort in his right arm and is being sent to a specialist in St. Louis after seeing the team doctor.

Right-handed pitcher Seth Lugo will be called up to replace Harvey.

Harvey is going to be seen by Dr. Robert Thompson for a second opinion. This is the same doctor that Kansas City Royals Pitcher Dillon Gee saw due to a blood clot. That injury required surgery.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for the New York Mets as Harvey has been awful for the first half of the season. Hopefully, it is nothing major and the long rest will be the solution to finding their long lost ace.
