The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here: New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes is playing like a productive baseball player.

Well, at least we got that over with.

After throwing New York into high-stakes round of “the Waiting Game” from on 0-for-4 debut, Jose Reyes finally recorded his first hit in his New York Mets return.

Thanks to his third inning double — ripped down the third base line — for one second, at least, the collective Mets fanbase can forget about the controversial signing, and remember the good days of 60 stolen bases and countless base-hits.

Not a moment later, Curtis Granderson was smashing a single, good for two ribeyes as Reyes and Rene Rivera swiped home plate, and extending the Mets lead to three runs.

Update: The Mets now lead the Marlins 4-1 heading to the fifth inning.

Meanwhile, Wilmer Flores is doing his best to keep his job at third base, crushing a baseball over the left field fence for the second time today, while simultaneously telling Reyes to, “Get out of here, bro.”
