New York Mets youngster Brandon Nimmo is still smiling after crushing his first career MLB home run against the Chicago Cubs.

Though it’s already the next half-inning, and though he’s back out there in right field, New York Mets youngster Brandon Nimmo can’t stop smiling.

The reason for his enthusiastic grin is completely thanks to a home run – his first career Major League Baseball home run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, with his club holding a 4-1 lead against the Chicago Cubs, Nimmo smacked this 3-run shot off Cubbies starter Jason Hammel (video above).

As you can plainly see, Nimmo could hardly contain his enthusiasm while rounding the bases.

Just a night ago it was Nimmo who acted as the catalyst in his club’s 4-3 combeack victory (picking up his first RBI), and now he’s collected his first big league dinger.

The Mets currently hold a 7-1 lead as the teams head into the bottom half of the 5th-inning.
