The New York Knicks signed undrafted free agent Ron Baker of Wichita State to a partially guaranteed deal.
The New York Knicks were one of the seven teams not to make a selection during Thursday night’s NBA Draft. They went right to work after its conclusion, signing shooting guard Ron Baker of Wichita State to a partially guaranteed deal.
It’s likely that Baker will start the season in the D-League. A partially guaranteed one-year deal means he’ll have to work for his time.
Over half of Baker’s attempts at Wichita State during his four-year career were from three-point range, and he shot an impressive 36.9% from beyond the arc. If he sees time with the Knicks this season, expect mostly catch and shoot threes.
He is 23 though, old for a rookie in the NBA, so the Knicks may want to move him onto the team to see what they have sooner rather than later.
