While facing the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard smacked two home runs.
Forget the nickname. Forget fiction.
This guy they call Noah Syndergaard might actually be a superhero.
Syndergaard, the young flame-throwing righty on the New York Mets, has been provided the nickname of Thor thanks to his unique similarities to the fictional superhero.
After tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, some fans might just scratch the name Syndergaard all together.
Syndergaard become the first pitcher since 2007 to homer twice in the same game. The first one came by way of the solo variety in the third inning off Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda. Then, he did it again against Maeda with a three-run shot in the fifth inning:
Oh yeah, he’s also only relented two runs through seven innings pitched on the night up to this point. He remains in the game as he’s personally responsible for all four Mets runs.
Noah now has three home runs in his major league career.
