In no world can a man be nicknamed Big Sexy and not make graceful catches such as these. New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon proved just that.

Seriously: Could you ever imagine a man carrying around the nickname “Big Sexy” and walking around as, well, anything but sexy?

Of course not. That’s just how nicknames work.

New York Mets starting pitcher Bartolo Colon understands this all too well, and that’s why he plays out his character to such a lovable, almost cult-like degree.

The Colon express as it relates to his personal array of highlights continued on Saturday night as his Metsies hosted the Philadelphia Phillies.

In the top of the sixth inning, his final frame of the night, Colon needed to showcase his cat-like reflexes after a bunt attempt went sky-high. Colon did his bets Willie Mays impression in making the graceful, almost peaceful over-the-shoulder catch:

Of course it’s the case. He reminded you of his helmet-less antics earlier in the night as he swung with all his might up at the plate:

Colon finished the night surrendering only one run and five hits while striking out seven in his six innings of work. Because the Mets currently trail 1-0 in the seventh, Big Sexy is in line for the loss.
