New York Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis has had a solid rookie season. Actually, it’s been much better than what most people expected.

Other than No. 1 draft pick Karl Anthony Towns, KP has been the top rookie in the NBA

Although he’s sort of hit a rookie wall recently, it still shouldn’t diminish Porzingis’s impact in the NBA in his first year and how the Knicks have a bright future piece ahead of them despite all the problems they’re currently going through now.

In his rookie diary over at NBA.com, Porzingis mentioned several different things.

A few of the topics he discussed revolved around his health and how his experience playing overseas has translated into helping him develop in the Association.

He mentioned how playing two or three years professionally in Spain helped him go through the longer NBA season more than most of the rookies who played in college, before turning pro.

Even though Porzingis can still gain some more weight to fill out his thin frame, there’s no doubt, even though he’s hit a rookie wall now, Porzingis has stayed relatively healthy.

The experience playing professionally overseas must have clearly helped Porzingis become smarter about how he handles himself to manage the physical grind of the league.

As he gains more NBA experience, that along with his overseas professional experience, will help KP even more long term and he will adjust to a full NBA season even better.

That will definitely increase his star potential for the Knicks.
