In their 9-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday night, the Daniel Murphy and the New York Mets pulled off this incredible play.

This is life for the New York Mets at the moment. Winners of seven games in a row and eight of their last nine, the Mets can literally kick a baseball in a basketball assist-like fashion to pick up a critical out.
Watch above as relief pitcher Carlos Torres does his best Henrik Lundqvist imitation and deflect the ball to Daniel Murphy who’s playing off first-base. Murphy then makes a ridiculous play by knocking it down and flipping a blind backhand to Torres who had enough presence of mind to bolt to cover first.
