New York Mets Look To Salvage St. Louis Series

After a tough loss on Friday night and a trouncing of epic proportions on Saturday, the New York Mets look to salvage a game on Sunday.

Through six meetings during the 2015 MLB season, the St. Louis Cardinals (58-33) have beaten the New York Mets (47-44) four times.

Two of these have come the past two days.

Friday night was a disappointing 3-2 loss for the Mets, while Saturday represented a 12-2 trouncing.

Today, on Sunday, the Mets look to salvage one game as they send Jon Niese (5-8, 3.61) to the hill to take on 24-year old Tim Cooney (0-0, 4.34).

Cards outfielder Jason Heyward has been dynamite in the series. His personal best five hits on Saturday proved to be too much to overcome.

First pitch is scheduled for 2:15 pm ET.
