New York Mets super phenom, Steven Matz, not only has four strikeouts in three-innings of work, but has doubled in two-runs already.

By Robby Sabo

The first batter in the Major League Baseball career of Steven Matz did not go as planned.

He promptly fell behind Cincinnati Reds lead-off hitter Brandon Phillips 3-0. This led to a solo home run.

Welcome to the bigs rook.

No matter though. Matz has since struck-out four Reds batters in only three-innings of work, including doubling home the only two runs for the New York Mets on the day.

His slight opposite field shot landed just out of the reach of the speedy Billy Hamilton and provided Matz with his first two MLB runs batted in.

The game is currently in the top of the fourth-inning with the score nodded up at two thanks to a Todd Frazier solo shot.
