The storybook season for the Vegas Golden Knights continued in the Stanley Cup Playoffs proving that hockey can work in Las Vegas.

Some said hockey in Las Vegas could not work. Others felt that it would take time, but not the Vegas Golden Knights.

Everything about hockey in Vegas this year was done perfectly. From their outstanding Twitter handle to their surprising play on the ice. The team took the hockey world by storm by winning the Pacific Divisionwith 109 points. They played their first playoff game Wednesday night and it did not disappoint starting with the pre-game show.

The pageantry alone is something to marvel at. You don’t normally see this in a hockey arena but Vegas played every card right. Vegas absolutely wowed the hockey world with this little show with the Knight taking down the King in what would be a quick preview of the game to follow.

That wasn’t the only spectacle that came out of Game One, and on the broadcast, Jeremy Roenick would show just that.

You cannot possibly go to a game in Vegas and not get the Vegas experience and that is exactly what this interview showed. Multiple Elvises in a crowd that was absolutely ramped up for their Golden Knights.

Vegas took that energy and fed off of it in the game coming out with a strong performance early.

The goal came at the 3:23 mark of the first period and you could just hear the energy in T-Mobile Arena. The crowd kept that energy all throughout the game making sure T-Moblie Arena is a clear home-ice advantage for Vegas.

Vegas would go on and make history beating the Kings 1-0. It was a shutout for Marc-Andre Fleury who has become the face of the franchise ever since the expansion draft last summer. Fleury made 30 saves and Vegas would go to take the 1-0 series lead.

Vegas has taken the hockey world by storm and they will continue to do so after putting up performances like that. The fun is only starting for Vegas and let’s hope they continue to keep it up because the hockey world needs it.
