The Keystone State showdown heats up once again tonight as the Pittsburgh Penguins host the Philadelphia Flyers.

Let’s take a look at this a Eastern Division clash from a betting perspective in our Penguins vs. Flyers betting pick with odds, player prop picks and game predictions.

Flyers vs. Penguins Betting Pick

The Philadelphia Flyers head into this contest on a three-game win streak, spearheaded by a pair of 3-0 shutout wins against Buffalo over the weekend. Both Brian Elliott and Carter Hart turned in perfect sheets in net as Philly has now scored three or more goals in 10 of their last 12 contests.

They take on a Penguins club that has split their last four games, and are sitting just 2 points behind the Flyers for that fourth place spot in the Eastern Division standings. Pittsburgh is still missing some key players due to injuries with forward Jason Zucker and Brian Dumoulin both out indefinitely with lower body issues. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh will also be without Sidney Crosby:

Both teams enter this game with some recent trends in their favor.

Philadelphia has won five of their last seven meetings with Pittsburgh. On the other hand, the Penguins are 8-1 in their last nine games at home.

Bets We Like With a Penguins Win

Brian Rust to Score a Goal Anytime (+210, DraftKings)

Leading the Penguins with 71 total shots on goal, Brian Rust has been one of the team’s top scorers with six goals and nine assists on the year. The 28-year old Michigan native has three goals and five assists in 16 career games against the Flyers. Without Crosby out, he will need to pick up the slack, so I expect him to find the back of the net tonight.

Bets We Like With a Flyers Win

Sean Couturier to Score a Goal Anytime (+225, DraftKings)

The 28-year old Phoenix native has been red-hot as of late, scoring three goals and adding four assists over his last five games. Couturier has six goals and 18 assists in 39 career games against Pittsburgh, and I like for him to continue his scoring streak with a goal this evening.

Bets We Like Independent of the Outcome

Full Game OVER 6 Goals (-114, PointsBet)

Both of these teams can score at will and have had some spotty issues with goaltending, moreso with the Penguins, who haven’t found a consistent starter between Tristan Jarry and Casey DeSmith.

Flyers starter Carter Hart hasn’t been real sharp as of late either, despite posting 28 saves in a shutout win on Sunday afternoon. Hart is 6-3-3 on the season with a 3.35 goals-against and a .899 save percentage, and splits show that his numbers are historically worse on the road than at home.

I like for this game to be a track meet and go over the total.

Flyers vs. Penguins Prediction

Philly comes into this matchup as the sharper looking squad, finally getting their regular lineup back in order after weeks of dealing with COVID-19 protocol issues. With Crosby out, I like the Flyers to beat the Penguins here by a score of 5-3.
