Will the GOAT get yet another ring? Or are we entering a Chiefs dynasty? Here’s how our experts predict the outcome of Super Bowl LV.
After an NFL season unlike any other, we have finally arrived at Super Bowl LV. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will “host” the Kansas City Chiefs in a historic matchup of quarterbacks: the GOAT, Tom Brady, against the heir apparent, Patrick Mahomes II.
Our staff at ESNY has been providing our picks the entire postseason. In the conference championship games, only two of our experts – Tab Bamford and James Kelly – correctly predicted Brady would lead Tampa home for one more game.

How have our experts done with their picks throughout the postseason?
With that in mind, let’s dive into The Game.
Favorite: Kansas City -3
Brady, not Mahomes, comes into the Super Bowl leading the postseason with 860 passing yards; Mahomes has thrown for 580 thus far.
Leonard Fournette ranks second in the postseason with 211 rushing yards, trailing Cam Akers by ten yards entering the Super Bowl. Darrel Williams leads Kansas City’s diverse running attack with 130 postseason rushing yards.
While Brady has thrown for more yards, Kansas City’s top targets have accumulated more yards. Tyreke Hill ranks second in the postseason with 282 yards; Buffalo’s Stefon Diggs has the playoff lead with 311 receiving yards. Travis Kelce ranks third overall with 227 yards. For Tampa, Chris Godwin leads the way with 223 yards entering the Super Bowl.

Defensively, Tampa’s defense has been marvelous. Devin White‘s 26 tackles lead everyone in the postseason. Tampa’s other inside linebacker, Lavonte David, was injured during the NFC Championship Game but has still racked up 20 tackles. Tampa’s Shaquil Barrett is tied for the playoff lead with 3.0 sacks coming in, and Sean Murphy-Bunting leads the playoffs with three interceptions.
For Kansas City, Tyrann Mathieu is the leader with 13 tackles and one interception. Frank Clark has 2.0 sacks and three tackles for loss as well.
Here are the picks of our experts:
Our experts are split on this Super Bowl, but the picks for Super Bowl Most Valuable Player are all over the place. Tampa linebacker Devin White, picked by Tab Bamford, has +5000 odds to be named the MVP – something to consider if/when you wager this weekend.
