It was a battle of two teams both dealing with injury galore, and the Brooklyn Nets prevailed. Earlier this afternoon, it was announced that point guard D’Angelo Russell would miss the majority of the year following knee surgery.

For the Utah Jazz, Rudy Gobert remains inactive. As well as Ricky Rubio and Thabo Sefolosha. Tonight’s loss in Brooklyn makes for six straight on the road for Utah.

For the Jazz, guard Raul Neto led all scorers with 22 points off the bench. Starting guard Rodney Hood was behind him with 17 points.

Forward Joe Ingles also added 15 points, on 100 percent shooting from the floor.

Brooklyn backup Spencer Dinwiddie earned his third start of the year, and poured in a career-high 25 points on a career-high 6 three-pointers. He tallied 8 assists and 5 rebounds in addition, leading the Nets to a 2-1 record when he starts.

Forward DeMarre Carroll continues to impress, scoring 17 on the night.

Guard Allen Crabbe had one of his better games this season, with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Off the bench, guard Caris LeVert added 10 points in 21 minutes.

Brooklyn connected on 17 three-pointers behind a season-high 27 assists. It was a clinic.

They looked strong in light of Russell’s injury, who was watching the game from his hospital bed in New York.

Tonight was a nice reminder to fans of the potential this team still has, despite losing two starting guards for an indefinite period.

Good on the young Nets, who will host the defending champion Golden State Warriors Sunday night. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. ET.
