New York KnicksKristaps Porzingis had his eighth 30-point game of the 2017-18 NBA season against the lowly Kings. The Knicks won handily.

  • New York Knicks 118 (7-5)
  • Sacramento Kings 91 (3-9)
  • NBA, Box Score, Final

Kristaps Porzingis connected on an alley-oop from Frank Ntilikina with two seconds remaining in the first quarter to push his point total to 16 and stretched the Knicks lead to nine points. The unicorn didn’t look back; steamrolling the Kings on Saturday night.

He finished with 34 points against the lowly Kings and didn’t play a second of the fourth quarter. It wasn’t necessary. This game was over after the first quarter. Sacramento just didn’t have the firepower to keep up with New York.

They certainly didn’t have an answer for Porzingis. Not that anyone ever does. But the Kings were especially stumped. The 22-year-old managed to score 34 points in only 27 minutes. If he were allowed back out in the fourth, who knows what he could’ve done.

The Kings starters combined to score a whopping 31 total points on 11-of-31 from the field. None of them were in double-figures. This would’ve been a terrible loss for the Knicks.

Key Stat

It’s hard to pick just one but I’ll go with the turnovers. After giving the ball away 23 times in their loss to the Magic, the Knicks rebounded nicely Saturday with only 11.

Key Player

Damyean Dotson replaced Courtney Lee with 2:19 remaining and the Knicks comfortably ahead by 30 points. The second-round pick didn’t come out for the rest of the game. He scored 14 points in 14 minutes on 6-of-9 shooting including a couple threes.
