New York Knicks superstar Kristaps Porzingis is banged up and questionable for Wednesday night’s matchup with Orlando.

Per ESPN’s Ian Begley, Kristaps Porzingis may not play in tonight’s game in Orlando. The 22-year-old is dealing with a sprained left ankle and a contused right elbow.

Relax Knicks fans. Porzingis is going to be alright. He looked pretty good down the stretch in last night’s come from behind win over Charlotte. He’s likely dealing with some soreness after getting tossed around by Dwight Howard.

NBA players have made it no secret that they dislike playing in back-to-backs. This could be the Knicks’ sly attempt at keeping Porzingis out of the lineup tonight without making it seem like they are resting him.

Commissioner Adam Silver has made it a point to cut down on the amount of times star players are held out of games for rest. Joel Embiid of the 76ers routinely sits out due to “load management.” You can imagine the kind of fun that Twitter had with that description.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see Porzingis play tonight, but I don’t think he will play in all 82 games this season either. While there’s no need to hit the panic button, but there’s also no need to run him ragged this early in the season.
