Embattled New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo’s future may have already been determined—and it’s not at MetLife Stadium.

Ben McAdoo’s days as head coach of the New York Giants may be numbered.

According to a report from NFL insider Benjamin Albright, a source with the team says he would be “shocked beyond belief” if McAdoo were retained as head coach for 2018.

What he added next was the most damning language we’ve heard about McAdoo so far. “[Players] hate him, no one trusts him…he’s only out for himself.”

That’s not all that surprising. Anyone who watched the dumpster fire of a game this past Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams witnessed first hand the entire team—the defense especially—quit on not only their head coach, but each other.

This wasn’t the only report to come out on Wednesday about McAdoo, however. Dan Schneier of 247sports and CBS Sports reported that an admittedly shaky source told him that McAdoo would be “fired shortly,” with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo taking over for the rest of the season.

Whether it’s this week or three months from now, Giants fans will soon be able to celebrate McAdoo’s dismissal. And, hopefully, general manager Jerry Reese’s as well.
