It may not be Pi Day just yet but New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius used his pie for good.

The New York Yankees did the Ice Bucket Challenge when that was a thing. Now, Didi Gregorius has started a whole new trend for this Yankees team.

In support of the Gastroparesis Patient Association for Cures and Treatments, Gregorius took a pie to the face to help raise money for this cause. Oh, and he posted it on Twitter for all to enjoy.

Didi was challenged by Andrew Belliveau, a 20-year-old Massachusetts native who invented the #GPPieFaceChallenge. The challenge was created to raise awareness for an invisible disease known as Gastroparesis, which Belliveau suffers from. His story was first shared on News8 wtnh.com and his challenge has reached all across Boston sports so far.

Better yet, Gregorius nominated the Yankees, Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez and Aaron Hicks to partake in the challenge. Just imagine MLB The Show ’18 cover athlete getting a measly pie shoved in his face.

Wait…it only counts if Ronald Torreyes himself shoves the pie in Judge’s face. Now THAT would make for a great “Toe-night Show” segment.

Can’t wait to see what other athletes partake in this great cause! 2017, you now have your version of the Ice Bucket Challenge. Do with it what you will.
