Kristaps Porzingis named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week after a career high 40 point outburst last night.

Kristaps Porzingis has been downright dominant this season. He has put the team on his back and taken over the scoring load in a big way. He is currently second in the league in scoring behind the Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Porzingis is having a historically great start to the season. He broke Bernard King‘s Knicks record for most points in the first 9 games to start the season. Hopefully, he can continue this historic pace.

Porzingis’ ability to make the Knicks fun to watch might be more impressive than his scoring output. The Knicks are winners of 5 of their last 6 games and Porzingis scored 30+ points in all 5 of those victories.

Sunday’s comeback victory featured big shots from KP along with a cameo appearance from rookie guard Frank Ntilikina. Look for those two to see more time together as the season progresses.

The future is bright in New York with the unicorn and his newfound French running mate. The Knicks have three winnable games this week against Charlotte, Orlando, and Sacramento. We are a long way off from knowing how this season will play out, but for now let’s enjoy the ride.
