The New York Yankees failed to surmount the 2-0 hole in this series. They dropped all four games on the road in 4-0 loss to the Houston Astros.

  • Houston Astros: 4 (4-3)
  • New York Yankees: 0 (3-4)
  • ALCS GAME 7, FINAL, Box Score
  • Minute Maid Park, Houston, TX

The New York Yankees failed to win a single game on the road in the 2017 ALCS. Despite gaining tremendous momentum going up 3-2 in the series, the Yankees failed to close it out. CC Sabathia entered the game being 10-0 coming off of a Yankee defeat. However, this couldn’t hold tonight.

CC Sabathia and Charlie Morton shut down their opponents through the first three innings untill Evan Gattis broke the tie in the fourth inning with a solo homer. Astros would take an early 1-0 lead.

The Yankees threatened in the fifth but failed to come away with anything to show for it. However, the Astros were just getting started. Jose Altuve started the party with a solo home run to right field, and Brian McCann delivered the exclamation point with a two-run double to right field to give the Astros a commanding 4-0 lead.

The Yankees threatened here and there, however, failed to put up any real fight only gathering three total hits. The Yankees lost 4-0 and the Houston Astros advance to the 2017 Fall Classic.

YANKEES BATS GO SILENT

The Yankees managed to put together three hits in the colossal game seven against Charlie Morton and Lance McCullers Jr. Bottom line is you cannot win games if you don’t hit and the Yankees did not hit.

BRIGHT FUTURE

The Yankees gained invaluable experience this postseason for their young core. Hopefully, that experience shows in next years post-season.

DECISIONS TO MAKE

Will CC Sabathia be back? Will Masahiro Tanaka opt out? Who will start where? There are so many questions for this team next season, let’s see how it plays out.
