Carmelo Anthony is set to begin his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but not before taking shots at the New York Knicks.

To say Carmelo Anthony had an up and down career with the New York Knicks would be an understatement. Anthony was subjected to as much drama and criticism as any athlete in the history of the NBA.

It all came to a head this past season with Phil Jackson’s words finally driving the ten-time All-Star out of New York. Throughout all of Jackson’s shameless subtweeting and media manipulation, Anthony remained professional and silent.

But now that Anthony’s happy with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he’s not staying quiet anymore. The 33-year-old told reporters he felt that Jackson and the Knicks stabbed him in the back. Anthony says he and Jackson only spoke twice last season.

Melo’s Thursday tweet appeared to be another shot at the Knicks.

As he begins a new chapter with Russell Westbrook and Paul George, Anthony implied that his old situation was hell. Beginning his career in OKC was walking out of it. It’s a very Melo tweet.

This is a classic revenge game for Anthony. The first time he plays against his old team will be on opening night with his far superior new squad. Expect a big night.

The guys who traded Anthony, Steve Mills and Scott Perry, are with the team in Oklahoma City. Even Better.
