The New York Knicks gave their second and final two-way contract to former North Carolina forward Isaiah Hicks.

The New York Knicks finally decided what to do with their remaining two-way contract. They gave out the first one to Luke Kornet back in June. The lucky recipient of contract No. 2 is former North Carolina forward Isaiah Hicks.

Shams Charania of The Vertical was first to report the deal. He also points out that Hicks was with the Charlotte Hornets during training camp. The former Tar Heel was released last week as part of their final preseason cuts.

Hicks, 23, won a National Championship last season at North Carolina and appeared in another the year before. He arrived in Chapel Hill as a McDonald’s All-American, but never took off as a superstar prospect.

The two-way contract allows him to split time between New York and Westchester (G-league). By rule, any player on a two-way contract can spend up to 45 days in the NBA. It allows teams to expand their roster to 17 players without having salary count against the cap.
