New York Knicks rookie point guard Frank Nitlikina vows he’s ready for the opener while Nike constructs a billboard of a kid.

Phil Jackson‘s last move as boss of the New York Knicks claims that he’s ready.

Zach Braziller of the New York Post has the encouraging words of the young point guard, vowing to be ready for Thursday night’s season-opening NBA contest.

“If the plan goes well, I should play Thursday,” the long-armed 6-foot-5 guard said.

On who he’d be squaring off against on Thursday night (reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook), Ntilikina didn’t shy away.

“Westbrook is the MVP. It’s going to be fun,” said the defensive-minded Ntilikina, the eighth-overall selection in last June’s draft. “Every point guard in the league is very talented, and you have to be ready for every challenge. Defensively as offensively, I have to be ready to compete, and that’s what I will do.”

While the rook looks to put the finishing touches on being available, Nike is constructing something awesome.

As per Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Nike is constructing a giant billboard of Ntilikina on the side of a building at 35th and 8th. The billboard couldn’t feature star Kristaps Porzingis because the Latvian has a deal with adidas.

“It’s pretty big,” Ntilikina said, adding that he was caught by surprise. “It’s crazy. I love it.”
