Minnesota Vikings’ Laquon Treadwell and Harrison Smith pulled off tremendous one-handed catches against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings have a significantly improved chance to beat the Green Bay Packers this week following the injury to Aaron Rodgers. They’re getting some contributions from unusual places to do so.

Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, who has been used more as a blocker than as a receiver thus far in his young career, made a great one-handed catch along the sideline.

Treadwell, a first-round pick in 2016, saw only three targets as a rookie, as he was buried on the depth chart and didn’t see the field very much. This season he has seen the field often as the slot receiver, but has only been targeted 10 times through the first five games.

For people who drafted Treadwell, especially in dynasty leagues (such as this author), this catch is a good sign. Fantasy owners can remain hopeful that this will show the Vikings coaching staff that he can handle an increased role in the passing game.

He isn’t worth an add yet, but he is a talented receiver and is worth monitoring to see if he gets an increased workload after a very impressive catch.

Safety Harrison Smith refused to be outdone however picking up a one-handed interception on a pass by Brett Hundley later.

Despite being unable to break it for a touchdown, Smith added a nice run back on the interception. One-handed catches are in for the Vikings today.
