Today’s Brooklyn Nets news features the team maintaining focus after three straight preseason victories.

To point guard Jeremy Lin, a 3-0 start in the preseason doesn’t mean much at all.

Brian Lewis’ of the New York Post posted a report with some Nets’ player reactions.

“Nothing. Let’s say for example we were 0-3 but we were still playing the same way, my takeaways would be pretty much the same. It’s just I think we’re playing the right way.”

Most would expect the Nets’ to be rejoicing with three straight wins, after recording the league’s worst record last season.

For Lin however, it’s nothing more than a foreshadow of greatness to come. Something the fans and players alike are looking forward to this season.

“What it does is it gives us a chance. In my mind it’s like, ‘OK, we have a chance to be a great team.’”

Shooting guard Caris LeVert says no matter what the game, the goal is the same: play together.

“We’re just looking to get better every day whether it’s preseason, regular season, looking to go out, play hard defense, play together every single game whether its preseason or regular season.”

As far as the season’s actual projections, the Nets projected win total is 29.5, the third lowest in the league.

For the newly acquired Allen Crabbe, projected wins are just a reminder of what’s expected. This isn’t the first time he and his team have been counted out.

“I remember the first year I started really getting into the rotation (in Portland) and we were supposed to be 29th out of 30 teams. That’s what the experts ranked us, and we ended up getting fifth in the West.”

A successful preseason doesn’t mean Brooklyn is guaranteed a good season, or appearance in the playoffs.

Yet somehow, after three near irrelevant games, it’s starting to feel like a real possibility.

The Brooklyn Nets will host the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday night. Opening tip is at 7:30 PM EST.
