It wasn’t the longest rushing touchdown in New York Jets history. This, despite CBS leading us all to believe it to be.
Instead, it was the second-longest rushing touchdown in Jets history. The fool ’em version on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars pushed Chris Ivory‘s monster run a few years ago down to third.
On Sunday, Bilal Powell hurdled, fell and then scampered for a 75-yard touchdown against the Jags (video above).
The score provided the Jets an early response to the Jags first score of the game on the opening drive of the contest. It was rookie Leonard Fournette who picked that one up through the air as he beat second-year linebacker Darron Lee to the flat on the play action:
